Benefiting Patients with the Latest in Periodontal Technology
The goal of investing in the latest periodontal technology is simple. It benefits our patients in the form of faster, more accurate diagnosis, and safer, more predictable treatments. As specialists in the field of periodontics and dental implant therapy, we regularly utilize advanced equipment and modern techniques to improve oral health and create beautiful teeth to last a lifetime.
DIGITAL INTRA-ORAL RADIOGRAPHY WITH DEXIS®
Digital intra-oral radiography allows us to analyze the entire mouth faster and safer than ever before. Using the latest radiography equipment and award-winning Dexis software, we have the ability to immediately view images with the patient and share the electronic files. Digital intra-oral radiography is more diagnostic than conventional x-rays and uses less than half the radiation–giving patients the peace of mind they deserve.
3D IMAGING FROM SIMPLANT®
3D Imaging is a critical component in the diagnosis and treatment of case-specific, oral health problems. With SimPlant 3D Imaging software, we can make a 3D image/model of the entire jaw from the CT scan, allowing all aspects of the anatomy to be easily and clearly visualized. As a result, we have the ability to develop a more precise treatment plan and reduce patient risk during the procedure.
PIEZOELECTRIC® SURGICAL MACHINE
The Piezoelectric Surgical Machine was designed to provide more precision and greater safety during surgical procedures. With the Piezoelectric Surgical Machine, we can provide a gentle approach to handling teeth and hard tissue, which in turn helps patients heal better with less trauma and swelling.
NON-INVASIVE, MINIMALLY TRAUMATIC EXTRACTION WITH EASY X-TRAC SYSTEM
Tooth extraction does not have to be a painful experience. The Easy X-Trac System provides patients with a non-invasive, minimally traumatic alternative to conventional tooth extraction. The Easy X-Trac System makes it simpler to remove single-rooted teeth without damaging the soft tissue or bone around the tooth. With this technology, some patients may be able to have a tooth removed and a dental implant placed in the same day.
BIOLOGIC TISSUE REGENERATION WITH AMELOGENINS AND RECOMBINANT PDGF
Biologic tissue regeneration is a breakthrough process that utilizes amelogenins or recombinant PDGF to promote new tissue development. Amelogenins represent a variety of proteins derived from a tooth follicle or developing tooth. Recombinant PDGF refers to man-made growth factor. These materials are used in regenerative therapy to facilitate new and improved bone growth, and can also be used in the treatment of gum recession and for new bone growth around teeth and dental implants. Amelogenins and recombinant PDGF are both favored for their high predictability and minimized discomfort for the patient.
ADVANCED IMPLANT SURFACES WITH STRAUMANN® SLACTIVE® AND ROXOLID®
Advanced implant surfaces were developed to offer patients greater flexibility and predictability during dental implant therapy. The recent introductions of Straumann SLActive and Roxolid have made even greater strides in saving time and cost associated with conventional implant therapy.
Straumann SLActive is used to provide more treatment options in dental implant therapy. It decreases the average healing time from 6-8 weeks to just 3-4 weeks. This means shorter treatment schedules, higher predictability and earlier placement of dental implants, resulting in better patient care. In more than 27 clinical studies, Straumann SLActive was shown to outperform previous implant surfaces with a 98% survival rate and a failure reduction of up to 60%—an incredible improvement when compared to older dental implant methods!
Straumann Roxolid is a newly developed surface material combining titanium with zirconium that increases the choice of treatment options with small diameter dental implants. In narrow bone ridges where conventional dental implant therapy would require bone grafting for placement of a wider diameter dental implant, a smaller diameter dental implant made of titanium-zirconium provides the same strength without the need for bone grafting, which is a process that incurs additional procedures, cost and time. In addition, studies have indicated that bone integrated better with Straumann Roxolid than with pure titanium surfaces, so it creates a stronger surface for supporting the dental implant and preserving its placement. While Straumann Roxolid works very well when dental implants are placed to support a denture, it cannot be used in all applications.
